ARMATURE COMMUTATOR INSPECTION UNIT

We take great pleasure in introducing you to our new product “Armature Commutator Inspection Unit” which helps in preventing armature rejection.

The armature commutator inspection unit is a very easy to use high performance inspection unit that enables you to improve the quality of Armature (Motor) and assists operators in maintaining quality control of process.

On the parameter of fault detection in commutator armature after turning, it helps in preventing armature rejection due to faults like Commutator Failure, Un-rounded Shaft, Bended Shaft, Fusing Machine Failure, Diamond Too Worn out, Carriage Slides, Clearance, Cutting Speed, Rough & Finishing Turning and Unbalanced Piece.

This helps in preventing armature piece rejection, by reducing bar to bar step to less than 1 µm, which helps to drastically reduce spark and noise and improves the efficiency of the Motor.

Measurement Parameters

  • BAR TO BAR STEP: This is the vertical gap between the two adjacent edges on adjacent bars. All such gaps are calculated and the worst case is displayed. The acceptable tolerance is 2µm. Values exceeding the tolerance have a dramatic influence on motor life.

  • DELTA BAR: This is the maximum excursion on each bar. The worst case is displayed. The typical tolerance is 3 µm. The value is related to the lathes diamond tool status and indicates when a new tool is required.

  • TIR (Total Indicated Roundness): This is calculated considering all the bars. The typical tolerance is 5 µm. This value reveals if the shaft is bent and indicates potential problems with the part assembly process.

Advantages of Armature Commutator Inspection Unit over Traditional Measuring unit -

  • 100% inspection is possible resulting in prevention of armature piece rejection due to commutator fault.
  • Measurement is very quick and simple to perform. Compared to traditional measuring unit (more than 2 min), measurement time is less than 15 Sec.
  • The measuring process is reproducible, as it is not influenced by the operator's judgment.
  • Can be used in severe shop floor conditions. Measuring unit has a heavy duty mechanical design and finish, providing resistance to electromagnetic and environmental disturbances like high temperature, dirt, dust, liquids, gases, vibration etc.
